Because driving around with a Realtor isn’t enough…

Not the first time we’ve written about this, and sadly, not the last. But Realtors are turning to Twitter as a way to advertise. Maybe it’s just me, but I can’t think of anything more exciting than receiving “tweets” from a real estate agent. “I just listed a home.” “I just came up with a new word for ‘upgraded.” “I just sold an old home for far more than it’s worth to people who can’t afford it, yet I’m getting a lot of money in commission and mortgage kick-back.” Ahhh, yes… Twitter and agents. So perfect together! Read the AdAge article after the jump.

In what we hope will lead to lawsuits, huge payouts, and the closing of a Wisconsin firm, Inman news reports how one agency is barring FSBOs, exlcusive listings, and listings from self-serve sites from appearing on their site EVEN if the home is in the MLS. We hope the Department of Justice steps in and takes action, as this sure seems to be an anti-trust issue.
You knew this day would come. Or maybe you had a feeling this day would come. At any rate, it’s here. Those appraisers, who used to do whatever realtors told them to do, are now actually abiding by a code of ethics and accurately stating the true value of a home. So what does that mean? You guessed. Those money grubbing realtors — who will do anything to get a sale and commission — are now learning that their inflated value of self and house are, well, inflated. Check out the story in the Las Vegas Sun, after the jump.
